My regulatory authority has just released a new Form. When will it be available on SPRiNG and how much will it cost?

 


As part of your annual maintenance fee we will supply you with new Forms in advance of you needing to complete them.

To set up the new Form on SPRiNG, click Utilities menu item Forms Available. Move the required Form from the left hand list to the right. Click the Close button to accept the change. Then choose Forms, Schedule to specify the frequency of the form.
 

 

I need to produce another report, which uses similar data to Forms I already produce for my regulatory reporting. Can I do this in SPRiNG?

 


Yes, you can. Call the Hotline on +44 (0)1453 751252 to talk through your specific needs.
 

 

SPRiNG says that my data fails the validation checks but I disagree. Is SPRiNG wrong?

 


It may be, but it is unlikely! Tell us where you think SPRiNG is wrong and we will investigate.

We will also liaise with the regulatory bodies as required to resolve the problem.
 

 

If I need help with a particular function in SPRiNG do I call the Hotline?


There is an excellent online Help system with SPRiNG. This is the best place to look to start with, either by pressing the F1 key for context sensitive help or looking up the function in the Contents or Index.

We also give you an Introduction Pack when SPRiNG is installed to help familiarise you with the software.

How often do you release new versions of SPRiNG and how much do the upgrades cost?

   


We send upgrades out on a timetable to fit in with the regulator's changes. These upgrades contain functionality improvements as well as form changes.

The upgrades, including the improvements in functionality, are provided as part of your annual maintenance fee. This effectively gives you an evolving product at no additional cost.

   

Spring Programs are not based in London, isn't that a problem for supporting the software?

   


Being based outside London gives us advantages and because we are on an Intercity line we can get into London in less than 2 hours. However, SPRiNG is a very robust software package and the technical support for the users is excellent so it is very, very rare that we have to make unscheduled visits to any user. We have supported copies of the software across the UK, Ireland, Germany, USA and Australia. Our customers haven't found our location a problem yet.


   

I'm a new user of SPRiNG and my predecessor had left before s/he could train me. What do I do?

   


Firstly, call the Hotline and tell them you are a new user. They will arrange to visit you, take you through the system, and arrange any additional training you may need. They will also send you an introduction pack that we provide to all new users whether it is a new installation or a change of staff at an existing client.

   

Is it possible to package up the installation of SPRiNG on a workstation in something like Tivoli?

   


Yes the basic workstation installation for a new workstation can be packaged in this way.

   

My copy of SPRiNG utilises Access 2000, we are upgrading to a later version of Office and/or Access. What should I do?

   


There are versions of SPRiNG available for Access 2000, Access 2002 (XP), Access 2003 and Access 2007. SPRiNG needs the appropriate version of Access to be present on the workstations that it is installed on. If you wish to upgrade to a later version, please contact the Hotline. If you just wish to use a later version of Office and/or Access alongside SPRiNG there is no problem with this, but you MUST keep a copy of the appropriate version of Access required by SPRiNG in a local directory. Please call the Hotline about specifics. A greatly enhanced version of SPRiNG using VB.NET and SQL Server is currently under development.
